Welcome

The pZ expression system developed by Dr. Rolf Lutz & Prof. Hermann Bujard offers tools and reagents for gene expression in prokaryotic hosts*. The system consists of the following components:

1. VECTORS for cloning and expression

A versatile vector system of modular structure offers freely interchangeable functional units:

• 5 tightly and independently controllable promoters

• 5 different selection markers

• 4 origins of replication

• 2 cloning sites

2. E. COLI HOST STRAINS

Various host strains provide chromosomally encoded regulatory proteins in defined concentrations warranting tight repression, full inducibility and genetic stability under all conditions of growth.
